Award Histroy

2019 – Inspired by the European idea of the „Green New Deal for Europe“.
2020 – Founding of the European Institute of Applied Sustainability.
2020 – November launches Entry.
2021 – First award year with 346 entries from 8 countries.

Non-Profit-Award

The promotor of the award is the European Institute of Applied Sustainability (EIAS), which is a non-profit organization. The jury of experts is committed on a voluntary basis and donates its expertise and time to review the submissions. The income from the European Green Award finances the costs of the award, which is financially independent from third party interests. In addition, 3 Euro of each submission goes to the Giving Partner „EinDollarBrille“ to finance glasses for young pupils with visual impairments in Malawi. This enables them to continue attending school. And Young Green Change Makers from Europe are supported.
