General Description

The OWActive Mineral climate control ceiling combines the advantages of a mineral ceiling with the comfort and energy efficiency provided by radiant heat. This innovative combination of surface climate control and acoustic ceiling represents a sustainable and efficient ceiling solution. Natural convection is reduced through the principle of low-energy temperature control, meaning that, with a mineral climate control ceiling, the room temperature can be approx. 2-3°C lower without feeling any colder.

Owing to the location of the ceiling, the radiant heat accounts for 98% of the total heat output, which is higher than any other heating surface. OWA uses the sustainable, biosoluble material mineral wool, which is 100% recyclable. The cooling performance of the OWActive Mineral climate control ceiling is also impressive: Compared with similar solutions, it can provide a higher output with an active surface that is up to 10% larger and thereby more comfortable and effective cooling.

Sustainability Impact

The OWActive Mineral climate control ceiling allows heating and cooling in a single system, working according to the principle of thermal radiation. The room temperature can be 2-3°C lower than with heating systems focused on warming the air (radiators, under-floor heating etc.), reducing energy use by up to 18%.
Approx. 80 % of the raw materials used in the production process come from the company’s local region, meaning short transport routes.

It is made from the material mineral wool and, thanks to the OWA green circle, is 100% recyclable and consists of up to 54% recycled materials. The mineral wool is produced by OWA itself with a unique mixture of high-quality, natural raw materials and recycled materials. Through the use of recycled materials from the manufacturing process, along with the “OWA green circle” take-back system, valuable resources, energy, water and CO2 can be conserved, and a closed-loop material recycling system can be established.
